The Winter Gardens entertainment complex is a mere 5-minute walk, which dating back to 1878 is an impressive building with a number of venues for the year-round glitz and glamour of shows and events. A 10-minute walk will take you to the Central Pier, Blackpool Tower & Dungeon, the Sea Life Centre, Madame Tussauds, and Coral Island on the bustling Golden Mile to name but a few! The award-winning green space of Stanley Park is a 15-minute walk, and here you’ll find everything from pedal boats to pitch-and-putt, train rides to trampolining and BMX to bowling and not forgetting the famous Blackpool Zoo.
Blackpool Pleasure Beach and Sandcastle Water Park are around a 30-minute walk, or you can jump on The Central Pier or Tower tramway, which are both easily accessible and convenient also for the annual illuminations light show. If you can bring yourself to leave Blackpool, slightly further south along the coast you’ll find the cosmopolitan seaside town of Lytham St Anne’s, which has five championship golf courses and is home to beautiful rolling sand dunes and colourful beach huts, or heading north for some nostalgia in the Fleetwood museum or retail therapy at Affinity Outlet.
For a change of scenery and a greener landscape the Forest of Bowland area of outstanding natural beauty, Ribble Valley, Pendle Hill and Lake District National Park can all be reached in around an hour.
